When you load a redhat9 guest OS under vmware, you need to set the login
screen to text (a la setting it up in inittab to
id:3:initdefault:
but you'd first have to get it to boot to init level 3 to be able to fix
that).
Then once you've logged in on the command line as root, install the
vmware tools. Once that happens, startx should work fine.

Hi folks,
Can someone help LT with this problem? He used to work for me at Kelly
before Othniel or Glenn came along.

Hi Walt,
I'm loading red hat 9 under vmware but whenever I
start it up, the screen keeps flickering. Do you know
where I can change the video settings on the command
line ?
Thanks.
What are you doing these days ?
