[SATLUG] 2.6 Kernel on production servers

We just received a ULB dual Opteron to replace our aging web/email
server. It uses a Silicon Image SATA device and those drivers are only
available in the 2.6 series of kernels. I've been experimenting with
the 2.6 kernels on my laptop and while they work, I'm worried that
I'll see stability issues when the system is fully operational.

So my question is, is anybody out there using a 2.6.x kernel on one of
their production servers?
