Question of the Week II:  This time it's not "Question of the Week I"

I don't mean to steal Othniel's "Question of the Week" thunder, but they say 
immitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  Since I've already answered a 
couple of his questions of the week, I thought maybe I should ask a couple 
of my own.  While Othniel's questions have been technical, this is 
historical and very open-ended.

What is the significance of "Yggdrasil" to Linux?  Discuss.
