[SATLUG] Hardware problem?

HEY!  Maybe those guys are right -- Micro$oft Winblows IS a virus!!!

Seriously, I've seen almost this exact same thing happen before.  At the
time, I was told by someone that Winblows loads and uses RAM from the
lowest address to the highest while Linux uses it from the top down.  If
there is a single or couple bit errors in the RAM, it could screw one up
but not the other.  The only way it would affect the other would be if
you started so many programs that you used up all the memory.

Try changing the memory and see if the problem goes away.
