I'd be interested in how this works out for you, if ya'll decide to pursue
it.

I was using CVS for some kicks'n'giggles mod work on the Wolf:ET sdk,
but the hard drive with the repos recently died, so I lost all the CVS stuff
(but still have the code due to "distributed backups" ;).

Seems like an opportune time to move to a different versioning system, and I'd
be interested to hear your impressions.  :)
