Hey Walt, Which distro are you using? Mozilla 0.9.8 is so old that
I'm wondering how old your distro is.

In my experience the only spell checker Mozilla has is in Thunderbird.
But I could be wrong. I've just never found a working spell checker
in the main mozilla stuff. YMMV.

You may need to uninstall the old version before installing the new one.

OR

The new version may be installed properly but your profile needs to be updated.
If you think the latter is the case then I'd recommend renaming your
~/.mozilla directories and re-running so that it will recreate your
profile with the newer version. I know that this has been a problem
sometimes when upgrading Thunderbird or Firefox.
Regards,
Greg
