So far we have had one impromptu meeting. Before Christmas I hope to
have a San Antonio BSD users group in place, and yes it will have a
discussion list. We could make a seperate group (SATBUG), but I think
that it might be good to make it a SIG of SATLUG. I think it could be
very educational to do some in depth comparisons (i.e., iptables and
pf). I am doing this from an educational stand point. Whatever we do I
do not want to create any kind of fracture in the *nix community. The
XCSSA guys and SATLUG get along very well. Several people actively
participate in both groups. I would hope that we could do something
that will help the entire *nix community. Let me know your thoughts.
October 9, 11 a.m. till ... We will host a *nix party at SAC, NTC 140.
I have several students that need help with installing Linux and making
different peripherals work. If any of you have projects that you wish
to work on, or wish to share, bring them. We will be showing the entire
"Lord of the Rings." If anyone can get door prizes let me know. So far
we have a couple sets of the "Hobbit" and the "Lord of the Rings"
(books) to draw for.
