Why would you want to mess with physical modification to the board just to boot/use linux when there's a drop in chip replacement (slash.dot)-> http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/09/26/1925224&tid=190&tid=211&tid=1 Haven't tried it yet, but looks promising.
