No, Its not free yet, The OC edition is not available yet.
But After all my work with it as a beta tester I did buy a copy of
Home-Premium.
I have found that the NTSF works.. reading and writing seems to work with
no problems.
I read and write to a 40gb travel usb 2.0 drive between my Xandros laptop,
main machine at home Xandros and my Windoze at work with no problems.
IF you are looking for a replacement to windoze this is the distro for you
(IMHO). We should not be adverse to spending SOME money for support and
innovation. It will fuel the creators and market with better products. As
some of you will remember I was searching for an alternative to M$
Windoze, Having worked in the M$ support field for 15 years, having NO
'Nix experience, Xandros install and functions are top of the list. It may
not be what some more "experienced" users want, I have seen people leave
Xandros after learning the system and linux in general. Xandros keeps a
VERY tight control on their repositories making it some what limited for
more experienced users. But if you are looking to introduce a new
"convert" I highly suggest Xandros. It just works..

"Now you throw in the reading AND writing to NTFS.. Ill stick to Xandros."

How robust is this? Reading is a no-brainer but writing is another
world on another planet in a galaxy in a cosmos still being created.
What's the catch?

Answered my own question partially. It is not free. And the NTFS
feature is in the "Premium" package. An $80 list value.
More interesting the file system is now ext3 only, according to
DistroWatch. ReiserFS has been dropped.

How things change when you only look at them once a year. Jan
Kratochvil claims to have NTFS write working under FUSE for the 2.6.14
kernel using his free product "Captive".

An interesting update read at Wikipedia on "Captive NTFS":
Is this Wikipedia post true or Microsoft FUD?

It would be great if the NTFS free stuff works and survives.
