We're arguing politics? On Satlug? I thought that was verboten.
Wow.
My .02
We turned a moral corner when we re-elected George Bush.
Or should I say.. the Christian evangelicals who were mostly responsible for
re-electing him turned a moral corner.
They traded accountability for a failed war (It was a failure when no WMDs
were found and we held NO ONE accountable. I'm sure
Collin Powell has trouble sleeping over the fact that no less than TWO weeks
before he went before the U.N. he publicly stated that he thought any
aggression against Iraq was unecessary..look it up peeps... He was a traitor
to his own doctrine.)
Yup.. it's been one long decline into moral decay.
No bid Halliburton....hah! who cares? Cheney's involvement.. HAH....while
the appearance of inpropriety is not proof of anything-- ..well.. Ceasar's
wife must be beyond reproach. But who cares? The country didn't seem to
mind that we invaded and NOTHING was there.. Who cares?
There was no fear of God, of retribution.... just look with what incredible
arrogance Tom Delay continues to court the evangelicals (He was on the PTL
club yesterday...getting his props from Robertson...How incredibly
disturbing is that? Specially since he truly believes and states that he
has done nothing wrong... He has repented not ONE iota.
So now we pay...
The Dems will have to pull rabbits out of a hat.. make miracles....just to
make us actually safe...truly safe....and how that is done well.. will HAVE
to do something about taxes (How else will we pay for the massive debt we
have incurred? How else will we actually make the Homeland safe (ports,
power stations, power grids...all need protection)?
So now we pay... and of course... will we learn that when someone sells us a
bill of goods like the Republicans did all the way back with Newt's
awe-inspiring hypocritical, stupefying, asinine "contract with America", we
should simply walk away. Hopefully.
The Dems aren't saints...not by a long shot... but Newt's revolution was
based on a stupid, illogical principles-- have you read anything he's done
lately? He's gone over the edge.... He knows that the only way to shore up
more evangelical support is to sell an apocalyptic vision...and now he's
selling WWIII to supposed Christians frothing at the mouth to see their
lord...even if it means that 2/3 of the world will die (at least that's how
THEY read Revelation).
Yup kiddos... It ain't over.. the real fight to regain morality in America
has just begun...God help us all
