[SATLUG] Slow Internet response on Linux boxes

This could be a full/half duplex issue with your network card.
We have seen this, sometimes the cards or the switches
need to be forced into full duplex 100(0)baseT, autonegotiation
won't do it for all brands and models.
Transfer a large file and see if the speed is within spec. If you
have both OS on the laptops, try both of them on the same hardware
for comparison. If you aren't sure what they should be, send us your
transfer times and also the network hardware specs.
