[SATLUG] Flashing DD WRT to WRT54G v5.0

Flashed a wrt54g v5.0 today and decided to share my experience(s). Used Firefox and the < bitsum.com/openwiking/owbase/ow.asp?WRT54G5_CFE > procedures (and kibitzing the < www.scorpiontek.org > procedures for comparison).

The vxworks-prep_03.bin went good, power cycled and screen blanked, but didn't come back (as I envisioned).&nbsp; Thought I'd killed it by recycling too soon, didn't panic, waited a bit longer then opened a new browser -> http://192.168.1.1&nbsp; and was greeted by the Mangement Mode screen (whew).

Applied&nbsp; the vxworks_killer_g_ v06.bin and received the Success message, recycled but the Success message remained, opened another browser -> http://192.168.1.1 and tftp'ed dd-wrt.v23_micro_generic.bin and waited for the automatic recycling but no new screen like anticipated.

Opened another browser -> http://192.168.1.1 and there it was ( DD WRT Control Panel ).

Bloppers: Didn't clone my MAC address (and as shown on the scorpiontek.org page), on the agenda for the next assault and failed to save vxware image (no big deal).

Almost as much fun as flashing my Nokia 9600 satellite receiver o/s, except bricking the 9600 would have been X14 times more expensive.&nbsp;
