This is not an issue as I have no current plans to setup a remote login
using ssh, since the computer is on only when I am home.

My everyday user account is the only one that I need X for since I don't
run X when I login as root.  Simply put, I was trying to be lazy and
avoid having to manually type startx each time I logged in as my
everyday account.  The solution of putting startx into the bash profile
is exactly what I was looking for and it seems to be working so far.
