I have been helping a friend of mine who has DSL. Some of my friends who
have TW cable have not had any problem at all. This is the second time I am
hearing about the quick installation of cable. In one of the apt complexes
here in SA, some one posted a msg like yours. The technician was around and
the line was connected within 2 hours. Couple of time when I had to help
friends with cable, it was a piece of cake, even for a novice like me. On
the dsl problem the line was checked with five different computers, three
different modems, and two visits from the phone company dsl tech. Have been
told by a friend of mine who subscribed to newly introduced Uverse (?) high
speed hook up from AT&T, techs visited his home 20 times to resolve
problems. It looks like the dsl/Uverse technology still is not mature and
stable, in spite of all the ad campaign we see all the time on Internet, TV
and print media.
