It's not that the telco cannot find workers willing to work on the 
weekends, they use "weekend" as an excuse to keep staffing at a minimum 
and personnel costs down.  Personally, I prefer working nights and 
weekends, as it leaves me weekdays free to do whatever, while everything 
is open, and not have to deal with all the 9~5ers who only have the 
weekend free.
