[SATLUG] DNS Record Config

I would like to discuss setting up multiple systems/domains for email.

I have two domains:

  domain1.org
  domain2.org

The domains are registered with different registrars and have different
authoritative DNS servers.

There are two hosts on domain1: host1.domain1.org and host2.domain1.org.

I want to host a second domain (web+maillist) on host2.domain1.org.

I've created an A record for hostA.domain2.org with the same IP address
as host2.domain1.org on the 2nd registrar's DNS server and a virtual web
server on host2. Everything works perfectly so far.

Now I want to create an MX record for domain2.org. Should I just point
it to hostA.domain2.org? I think it should work, but the only issue is
that the reverse DNS will point to host2.domain1.org. Will this be a
problem for mail?

I will want outgoing mail to be from user at domain2.org by default,
but a Mailman mailing list to have a Reply-to: listname at domain2.org.
This does not seem to be a DNS issue, but a MTA/Mailman issue that I can
handle separately.

Does this sound like a reasonable setup or are there issues that I don't
see?
