Don't really know.  I don't do Windows any more than I have to.

What you just did was isolate your problem down to the browser.  It
sounds like some plugin or extension or configuration option is causing
the problem.  It's definitely not standard Firefox behavior.  You might
try another broswer like Konqueror.
