I have to confirm this - it really is starting to look like an
ethernet driver issue with the e1000 driver. I have confirmed
that no browser will work under Linux on 2 independent machines
running different versions of Linux and different versions of
links, lynx, firefox and mozilla. None of them will work. The
only thing in common on both machines is the Intel gigabit
ethernet chipset (and the e1000 driver they are using - from
different kernels, though!). One is 2.6.18.2 and the other runs
2.6.18.8 - not sure if the e1000 driver changed. Which one
are you using?
As soon as I use a machine that uses a different driver - they
all work.
I don't think this has anything to do with your browser. This
is actually an ethernet driver issue. However, I am clueless
what this issue could be caused by.
