Well, let's see. It never fails to get a rise out of curmudgeons on

A desktop GUI should be functional AND beautiful. Beryl has useful
features such as the ability to zoom and read small text, an "Exposé"
feature that shows previews of all open windows, negative view,
opacify, and real alpha transparency for all applications. These can
be useful features for the vision-impaired and disabled people who
might have a hard time using a mouse. Personally, I just like eye
candy. ;)
