Well, I'm not sure I understand the question?

I don't have any metrics as to how much faster the WRT54GL is vs the
BEFSR41, but when multiple computers are connecting to the internet,
it seems like the -54GL creates less latency.

A casual perusal of newegg.com shows that the BEFSR41 can be obtained
for about $50, including shipping. The WRT54GL can be had for $52,
after a communistic $10 mail-in rebate.

If I had my choice as to which one to buy new, I would buy the WRT54GL
- it does one helluvalot more stuff, especially with aftermarket
firmware, such as dd-wrt.

The only reasons I have a BEFSR41 in service right now are;

1. I got it for $15 at a thrift store.
2. I moved one of my WRT54GLs to get a better wireless signal to the
other WRT54GL, which is in my garage, about 130 feet thru the trees
from my house.
3. I just finished paying for new central air, so I currently can't
part with the $62 newegg.com wants to ship a new WRT54GL to my house.

Your mileage may vary.
