Do you have the reverse DNS delegated so that your reverse DNS is for
your domain, or does it resolve to something else? I have seen some
mail servers reject mail from 10-10-10-100-users.ispname.tld type
addresses, even though they are valid host names and outside a dynamic
range.
For spam filtering, I use Spamassassin through amavis-new. I setup
something similar for one of my clients that runs a mailing list
server, except I threw in ClamAV for him. I don't care about viruses
here because I'm running linux throughout. With Spamassassin, I don't
have any problems with dropped legitimate mail. It is there to take
care of the very few that get through Gmail's spam filters.
