[SATLUG] motherboard/cpu questions

I'm in the market to build another PC.  I'm interested
in something that supports virtualization.  From what
I read its the sse3(?) instruction set that is
required?  I dont care if its AMD or Intel.  There's
all the hype about duo core, dual core, x2 blah blah. 
I want the most bang for my buck and I'm looking at
pricewatch.com for a motherboard/cpu combo.

My current setup is a AMD XP2800, 1.5gig ram, 400gig
hd (two drives).

Need opinions on the following setups (I dont care for
name brand mobos either, ECS is fine with me):
