I used to like web forums until I saw several system get owned by 
phpbb.  They have since fixed the problem but it took them a while to 
get-r-down.

As for viewing and searching the satlug mailing list, check out 
http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.org.user-groups.linux.satlug

 From there you can view the satlug email list in frames/threads, blog 
for NNTP format.  You can even search through the satlug mailing list.
