All,

I have started a local Ruby Brigade (Ruby users group) in SA, and we
are having our 2nd meeting this wednesday night (jun 27), 7:30 p.m.
in the Rackspace Building. Rick Olsen (of Rails core committer,
Beast, and Mephisto fame) will be giving a talk on one of the coolest
features of the rails stack, Active Record (Rails approach to Object-
Relational mapping). His presentation will be somewhat basic,
targeted to people who are interested but have not used rails/AR a
lot. Come on out and join us. We do not have any thing along the
lines of food because we do not have much corporate sponsorship
(yet), but with everyones help in coming to the meeting we might be
able to draw a large enough crowd monthly for some corporate interest.

Meetings are the last wednesday of every month, at 7:30 pm in the
Datapoint Rackspace building, so if you cannot make it this month,
come out next. In July's meeting Tim Pope will be giving a prez on
Rails.vim (http://rails.vim.tpope.net), which he created. Sign up on
our google group (http://groups.google.com/group/saruby) to get info
about the meetings. We have a site (http://saruby.org) but it seems
to be going down here and there and running slow at the moment :)

One final thing to note is that you DO NOT have to know anything
about ruby or rails to join in the fun. Nor do you have to be tech
oriented. We welcome everyone. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Hope to see lots-a people there!
Michael Basnight

Directions to Rack:

Please come in the back entrance, which is located on Wurzbach &
Bluemel (search 'Bluemel Rd & Computer Dr, San Antonio, TX 78229' in
google maps). The building is long, so as you enter, look for the
power generator. It is a big fenced in yellow thing in the parking
lot. You WILL NOT miss it. After you go past it, there will be a
loading dock attached to the building, a smokers covered area (green
benches/trees), and a back entrance. You can see all this in a zoomed
in view of the google map. This is where you come in. We will guide
you the rest of the way. I will be waiting outside, so feel free to
call me if you have any issues (including directions). I do not want
to post my cell on the web, so please if you do not have it, email
me, and I would be more than happy to give it to you.
