See recent posts on slashdot and other sites about how Dell is
(mis)handling this.  Thousands of people flooded the Idea Storm
website with requests for pre-installed Linux on desktop and notebook
machines, and at first Dell indicated they might do it, but then they
backed out and said it would be a really long time before any vendors
were certified, etc. etc.
