I'm not clear on exactly how this works.  As I understand it the boot
loader finds a compressed KNOPPIX image and mounts it, and loads the
kernel and other critical files into RAM.  Or if you use the =toram
option the entire contents of the knoppix distro.  But how does this
allow me to edit the original KNOPPIX image?

I really like my SanDisk Cruzer, but am considering the 2GB "Titanium"
model which you can get off NewEgg for around $60.
