I have been watching this thread with some interest.  I have heard these 
stories about people who work better drunk or stoned since I was very 
small mainly due to the fact my father was an undiagnosed alcoholic.  My 
own experience is that it is a load of crap.   In one day while I was in 
the military 30 years ago, an acid freak and a drunk together put six 
men from my unit in the hospital.  I was one of the injured.  My ankle 
still hurts when the weather changes.  If you are going to get wasted 
and do something stupid, lock yourself in the garage, get just as drunk 
or stoned as you want, make sure you are ALL alone, and play with a 16p 
nail gun.  If someone operated a piece of equipment better when they 
were messed up than when straight, they didn't need to be using that
