I didn't want to come out and bash the deal, but it sure doesn't leave 
me warm and fuzzy.

Some careful shopping on the san antonio/austin craigslist or ebay will 
get you an expandable powermac for $200.

But if one is looking for a glitzy desktop experience to compare to 
vista, running sub $500 hardware isn't really going to get one there.
