I am an elder (77) with poor eyesight and 2yrs ago I went from 17" CRT
to 17" LCD and I could see the screen a lot better, I dunno why since
the CRT was not interlaced but there was big improvement just from CRT
to LCD, I just recently bought a 19" LCD and that was a huge
improvement. I have it set at 1024x768 and I can see the screen very
good. I bet a slightly larger LCD for your Dad would be great for him. I
got the 19" at Geeks for $188 including shipping and I almost went for a
21 that was only few bucks more but decided not.
