Im running ubuntu on my aspire 5570 which I picked up a few months
ago. I had some problems with ubuntu 7.04 and the audio drivers, but
when I stayed with ubuntu 6 I had no problems. I do have a slightly
annoying feature My system beeps, randomly it would seem. I've tried
everything I can possibly think of to no avail. Its really irritating

I attempted to install Slackware 11 with the huge26 (2.6) kernel but
it didn't work out mainly because of the ipw3945abg wireless card.

Freebsd 5.5 and 6.1 didn't even recognize the ethernet driver, but do
have support for the ipw3945 in the ports collection.

Its alright, but I'm stuck in a resolution I don't like. Sometimes I
wihs I would have just purchased the macbook
