In the early 1980's I took MIS classes at the University of Maryland,
but lived on Ft. Meade. To do my Pascal homework on my C=64, I bought
one of those Z-80 cartidges that fit in the "games" slot, and ran the
CP/M version of Borland Turbo Pascal, then sent in my homework via 300
baud modem.

That C=64's 300 baud modem was a step up from the Baudot acoustically
coupled modem on my Heathkit H-48 when I was at Auburn a few years
earlier.
