I know that Charles Wyble is putting together a meta-LUG site for all
of Southern California at socallugs.org, in part based on the work
done at lalugs.org, and he's going to be using WebCalendar (see
<http://www.k5n.us/webcalendar.php>), because that's the best
calendaring tool he's found so far in the several years he's been
looking at this subject.

Can you give us a comparison and contrast between using a calendar
component of a content management system like Drupal, Joomla!, or
Plone versus WebCalendar?

BTW, I'm looking at putting together my own meta-UG site [0] for all
the various user groups in the Austin area, and I'm very interested
in the kinds of tools that might be used to help make this sort of
thing happen. And I know a group with multiple machines co-located
at multiple different facilities, who might be able to provide the
resources necessary for hosting such a site.

If anyone is interested in doing something similar for San Antonio,
I'd love to hear from you, especially if you've got any particular
tools you'd recommend, other such sites that we should cross-link
with, etc....

[0] Not just LUGs, but computer user groups of pretty much all types,
including those specific to given programming languages, etc....
