After typing this I found this on the Ubuntu site: Upgrading using the alternate CD/DVD Meh! This is one of the few things I don't like about Ubuntu. The standard installer is not very flexible. . . why could they have not included the option to upgrade with the STANDARD install image? I think in the future I'll stick with the "alternative" installer.
