I agree with Sean..but I would add web developers to that...and folks that
want to do cluster computing (high end video rendering maybe)...
I would add that for desktop users to get "linuxed"... linux geeks (myself
included) need to stop being purists about certaint things...
1. User interfaces for one... there ain't nothing wrong with purty...if it
makes the user experience less frustrating..
2. Remember that it's you shouldn't reinvent the wheel... I've said this
before but... linux app coders should stick to certain standards... like...
don't put EVERYTHING in context menus... (older versions of GIMP suffered
from that)
3. Don't rely on Java (unless it's running some server app).... sorry...
... Java on the desktop is STILL a nightmare...and it's stupid...It runs (no
matter the CPU) very inefficiently... I've seen very few apps that work well
with Java on the desktop... and OOffice ain't one of them..
