[SATLUG] Quasi-hardware RAID on motherboard?

I'm looking at this motherboard and one of the features advertised is RAID:

Does anyone have experience with Intel's "Matrix" chipsets?  Are they
reliable?  If so this is a pretty awesome feature:

"Seamless migration from a single hard drive to a RAID 0 or RAID 1 dual hard
drive array without requiring OS reinstallation. Additional migrations to
higher levels of RAID are also supported."
