[SATLUG] Tool for monitoring available bandwidth

Can anyone recommend a tool for monitoring bandwidth?  There is a VPN
connection that I want to keep an eye on, because during certain times
of day nearly all the bandwidth is consumed and it slows down the
network for everyone.

I can't use Wireshark or tcpdump on the switch because I don't have
access to the network hardware.  What I'm looking for is a simple tool
that will automatically log network connection speeds during the day
across the VPN to create a graph of the available bandwidth during
different times.
