I would load up the Cacti virtual appliance.  It's a great network
monitoring package.  Just load VMWare server (free download -
http://register.vmware.com/content/download.html), then download the Cacti
Server (http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/659) and run it in
VMWare Server.

Very easy to do.
