At work we use Suns Secure Global Desktop (SGD) though it's not free it has
been rock solid. Before we would export the display to xterms. This was very
inefficient due to the lag in the network, we are only connected by a single
T1 for the entire office to the were the server is located. SGD allows you
to limit access to programs or give the entire desktop, all through a web
browser/java app.
