[SATLUG] Smartmon output verification (smartctl for dummies?)

After suffering the major crash of an external hard drive, I have been
all about installing and configuring smartmon for scanning and
reporting errors with my hard drives.  The only issue I'm having
to-date is that I ran a test on my artigo and I'm not 100% sure I
understand the results.  Aside from the obvious Smart Self Test:
PASSED line, I don't know if there are errors encountered or not.

Some of the things scaring me are that some of these "current values"
are higher than the threshold values listed above.

 Can someone assist me in interpreting this?  I want to make sure I
don't get bitten by another disk crash.

Also, I have smartd montoring /dev/hdc (which is the system drive on
an Artigo) but I don't know where the log file for smartd is.  Does
anyone here know where it would be?
