A great deal depends on how much duplication you have in the data you've 
got.  If you're doing lots of full Level 0 backups including all OS, 
applications, and data included in each and every backup, then de-dupe will 
buy you a lot.

Although it will also increase the potential for SPOFs in your system, and 
certainly hotspots as well.


If all you're backing up is data only, and the data from each machine is 
pretty different, then de-dupe won't buy you very much, but it will increase 
the complexity in your systems.
