Ah. The imaginary friend. I have a few of those ... 8-)	And some imaginary co-workers also! (gotta LOVE working for state government!)

i is the imaginary number (friend).

Example:

sqrt(-16) = 4 * i

4*4 = 16
i*i = -1
(4i)^2 = -16
