[SATLUG] RAID5 Recovery - Reassembly questions

When I run:

root at RCH-SERVER:/# ddrescue --no-split /dev/sdc1 /dev/sda1 tblog1

Shouldn't there now be a superblock on /dev/sda1 when I run

mdadm --examine /dev/sda1

???

It finished running the ddrescue, with no errors, but there's now now superblock on the partition.

One can run a RAID on fewer physical than virtual drives, but it needs
to be done carefully. This might be a good advanced meeting topic.
