Looks like this is the newest version per

apt-get install mdadm

root at RCH-SERVER:/# apt-get install mdadm

Reading package lists... Done

Building dependency tree

Reading state information... Done

mdadm is already the newest version.

0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 118 not upgraded.

David: You might need to check for an update. The changelog mentions
problems with forced assembly and (separately) segfaults in 2.6.7.
Debian already has 2.6.9 and 3.0 in the beta test and development
branches - but you shouldn't need to go that far.  --Don
