I've never used the -d option in ls much.  I can see where it's pretty
handy.  I'll be using it from now on.

I'll notch it up there along with the +F option of less, for watching
(in real time) a file grow.
Most commonly, I'll use it for /var/log/messages or
/var/log/apache2/access_log
