Why not this:
modem > router (under your control) > VOIP router > phones
                                    > server
                                    > other computers

Connect all devices to a router you can control, treating the VOIP stuff
as just another Internet device plugged into the main router. You'll
also plug your server and other computers in the house into the main
router, leaving the VOIP device as just a phone jack.

That way you don't need to tamper with any OS settings, just use the
features of the main router which is fully under your control.  --Don
