Heck no. $243.99? That's WAY overpriced. If you have to change to analog
dial-up you can go to the Goodwill computer store and see if they have
any 56K external modems. Any that have serial (9 or 25 pin) connections
should work. USB connections may or may not work with Linux, but it
would be worth trying. Come to the computer show (www.pcshows.com) at
the end of the month if you can't find one elsewhere.

Just be sure you don't try to connect to a printer port - that can cause
severe damage or worse.  --Don
