[SATLUG] Filesystem/RAID advice

I just bought a 3ware escalade 9500s-8 8-port sata raid controller off of ebay and installed it in my system. I paid 70.00 for it. Going over there website they have support for Linux. If intrested I have the gentleman's location.

This would require setting up a second machine... with a RAID card... and two NICs. And if I was going that route I might as well go with fiber channel. That's just more than I wanted to get into. I just need RAID 0 or 0 + 1 to serve as a fast frame store.
