OK, another of those magic numbers is here. The cost of hard drives has
dropped to five cents a gigabyte. $95/2GB, $55/1GB from Newegg.

Just a reminder, in October 1980, 20 MB Shugart hard drives (later named
Seagate) were around $5000, based on ads in Byte magazine. Atari or
Apple floppy drives were about $500, and a 1981 Cadillac Fleetwood was

Price slightly higher west of the Rockies.
