Timed my actual 6GB/s SATA SSD:

$ sudo hdparm -tT /dev/sdc
/dev/sdc:
 Timing cached reads:   19666 MB in  2.00 seconds = 9841.50 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 734 MB in  3.00 seconds = 244.39 MB/sec
