10BitWorks will be having a class and workshop covering the basics of
Pro-Audio in GNU/Linux. If anyone attended a similar talk at the
recent Texas Linux Fest, the format and subjects covered will be
similar.

Linux pro-audio distro live cds will be available for anyone to try
out and follow along, in addition anyone is welcome to bring down any
gear they'd like to try and record with, such as guitars or
synthesizers; possibly jam out.

Talk will cover:
The current state of Linux pro-audio
Brief overview of the ecosystem
How to find out if your hardware is supported

Workshop will include:
Configuring Jackd
Routing audio/MIDI using qjackctl
Recording your voice into Ardour
Making rad sounds with ZynAddSubFx/Yoshimi
Drum loops with Hydrogen
Sequencing with Qtractor
Hooking up an external device, such as a synthesizer or guitar

If time permits and attendee interest:
Overview of LMMS
Creating a VST with Faust
Making music with Super Collider/Overtone
PD basics

If anyone has any questions before or after the class, please email me
at shazzner at gmail.com or post to the 10BitWorks mailing list.

Hope to see y'all there!
